Natural Stone Co. (“we”, “us” or “our”) supplies natural stone, including marble, quartzite, granite, dolomite and travertine, to homeowners, designers, architects, builders and fabricators from our appointment-only showroom at 23 Technology Drive, Warana QLD 4575. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it.

1. What personal information we collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to run our business and respond to you. Depending on how you deal with us, this includes:

  • Contact details – your name, phone number and email address when you complete the “Send us a Message” form on our Contact page, call us, email us or visit our showroom.
  • Enquiry details – the content of your message and information about your project, such as the stone you are interested in, the application (for example a kitchen benchtop, vanity or feature wall), quantities and timing.
  • Appointment details – the date and time you request to visit our showroom.
  • Quote, sample and delivery details – your project or delivery address and the details of your builder, fabricator, architect or designer where you ask us to coordinate a quote, samples, sourcing or delivery.
  • Trade and business details – if you are a designer, architect, builder or fabricator, your business name, role and business contact details.
  • Technical information – when you browse this website our hosting and security providers automatically record your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, religious or biometric information) and we ask that you do not send it to us.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you use the contact form on this website, request an appointment, call 0407 724 877, visit our showroom, or correspond with us by email or phone. We also receive personal information from your architect, designer, builder or fabricator when they engage us on your behalf for a project.

3. Why we collect, hold and use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and provide product information, guidance and material selections;
  • arrange and confirm showroom appointments;
  • prepare quotes, quantity estimates and specifications;
  • supply samples and coordinate sourcing, fabrication and delivery with your nominated trades;
  • keep records of the projects we supply;
  • maintain and secure this website and protect it against misuse; and
  • comply with our legal obligations.

We only send marketing communications, such as news about new stone arrivals, if you have asked to receive them. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can also opt out at any time by contacting us using the details below.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only where necessary to provide our products and services, with:

  • Fabricators, installers, freight carriers and other trades in our network, where you ask us to coordinate fabrication, delivery or installation for your project;
  • Your architect, designer or builder, where they are managing the project on your behalf;
  • Our stone suppliers and quarries, limited to the project details needed to source and reserve slabs;
  • Service providers that operate this website and our business systems, namely WP Engine (website hosting), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), Google (web fonts and the map embedded on our Contact page) and our email provider; and
  • Professional advisers, insurers and government agencies where required or authorised by law.

5. Overseas disclosure

Natural Stone Co. is based in Queensland, Australia. Some of the service providers listed above store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect personal information to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. How we protect it

This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is protected by Cloudflare security services, and administrative access is restricted to authorised staff using two-factor authentication. Enquiries and project records are kept in access-controlled business systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please take care with the information you send us.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed to respond to your enquiry, complete your project and meet our record-keeping obligations under Australian law (generally seven years for transaction records). Enquiries that do not proceed to a project are deleted once they are no longer needed. When information is no longer required we destroy or de-identify it.

8. Notifiable data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for reasonable access requests. If we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below and we will investigate and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or by phoning 1300 363 992.

11. Third-party websites

This website links to third-party services, including our Instagram account and Google Maps. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

12. Changes to this policy

We review this policy when our practices change and publish the current version on this page with a new effective date.
