Project Overview

Set on the waterfront in Noosa Waters, Mermaid is a refined coastal residence shaped by openness, light and a strong connection to the water. Expansive openings, tall ceilings and extensive glazing dissolve the boundary between inside and out, creating an elevated yet relaxed approach to coastal living.

Superwhite Dolomite is the defining material throughout the home, taking centre stage in the kitchen where its soft grey movement brings depth and character to the restrained interior palette. The stone continues through the BBQ area and bathrooms, creating a consistent material language across the residence.

In the powder room, Arabescato Marble is used to create a fully clad feature vanity. Backlighting illuminates the stone from within, revealing its crystalline structure and dramatic natural movement and transforming the vanity into a sculptural focal point. Designed by Light Body Architects and delivered by St Andrews Construction, the home balances architectural clarity with expressive natural materials, including a kitchen recognised with a HIA Highly Commended award.

Material Highlights

Superwhite Throughout

Superwhite Dolomite creates a consistent material language across the home, extending from the hero kitchen into the BBQ area and bathrooms.

Hero

Kitchen

Generous Superwhite surfaces and a full-height stone splashback make natural stone the defining feature of the kitchen, balancing soft movement with the home’s crisp architectural lines.

Backlit

Arabescato

A fully clad Arabescato Marble powder room vanity is backlit to reveal the stone’s crystalline structure, translucency and striking natural movement.

Award-Recognised Design

The kitchen was recognised with a HIA Highly Commended award, reflecting the considered integration of architecture, detailing and natural stone.

01

Refined Coastal Palette

Superwhite Dolomite, warm timber, crisp white joinery and restrained finishes create a light, sophisticated palette suited to elevated waterfront living.
02

Stone as the Hero

Superwhite dominates the kitchen and is repeated throughout the home, allowing its soft grey movement and natural variation to become a defining part of the interior architecture.
03

Volume + Connection

Tall ceilings, expansive openings and extensive glazing draw light deep into the home and create a seamless visual connection between the interior, landscape and water beyond.
04

Illuminated Stone

The powder room transforms Arabescato Marble into a sculptural feature, with integrated backlighting revealing the stone’s crystalline character and creating a memorable focal point.
