Project Overview

Set within Noosa’s subtropical coastal landscape, this contemporary residence is defined by raw concrete, warm timber and a restrained natural palette. Open living spaces, deep overhangs and landscaped courtyards create a strong connection between architecture and nature, with material choices designed to feel calm, tactile and enduring.

French Vanilla Crema Marble is used extensively throughout the home, its soft creamy tone and subtle natural movement complementing the warmth of the timber joinery and the texture of the surrounding finishes. From the kitchen and integrated shelving to bathrooms and utility spaces, the marble creates a consistent material language while bringing a refined softness to the home’s more robust architectural elements.

The stone is expressed through generous benchtops, full-height splashbacks, wall cladding and substantial vanity forms, allowing its quiet character to become part of the architecture rather than simply a surface finish. The result is a considered coastal interior where natural stone, timber, concrete and light work together with understated warmth and permanence.

Material Highlights

French Vanilla Crema Throughout

A consistent application of French Vanilla Crema Marble connects the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and integrated joinery throughout the residence.

Warm Tonal Character

Soft cream tones and subtle natural movement complement the oak joinery, textured finishes and raw concrete, bringing warmth and refinement to the material palette.

Architectural Applications

The marble extends beyond conventional benchtops into full-height splashbacks, wall cladding, shelving surrounds and substantial vanity forms.

Crafted Stone Detailing

Generous stone thicknesses, mitred edges and integrated basins give the material a sense of solidity while maintaining the home’s restrained architectural language.

Design Details

01

Material Harmony

French Vanilla Crema Marble, warm timber, textured neutral finishes and exposed concrete create a layered palette that feels natural, grounded and distinctly coastal.
02

Stone Continuity

Repeated marble applications across the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and joinery establish visual continuity and allow the stone to become a defining material throughout the home.
03

Indoor + Outdoor Living

Large openings, courtyards and deep overhangs blur the boundary between interior and landscape, with the warm stone palette reinforcing the home’s relaxed connection to its subtropical setting.
04

Quiet Materiality

Rather than relying on dramatic veining, French Vanilla Crema is celebrated for its soft tonal variation and understated movement, bringing texture, warmth and permanence without overwhelming the architecture.
